Empowering Children. Supporting Families. Building Brighter Futures.

A child and an adult explore a colorful toy together.

Participation, play and everyday routines.

Every child and family is different. These are topics to discuss with the team when exploring this service; they are not a promise of a particular treatment or result.

What the conversation may cover

  • Activities your child enjoys and the routines that feel difficult.
  • Hand use, play and everyday participation goals.
  • Practical ways to make routines more manageable.

How parents participate

Share your priorities, explain what everyday life looks like and ask how proposed goals fit your family. Discuss opportunities to participate and how recommendations can be used between appointments.

Before you arrange support

  • Describe a routine you would like help with.
  • Ask how goals will support participation at home or in childcare.

Confirm service availability, age eligibility, practitioner qualifications, appointment setting, fees or funding and any referral requirements for your location.

What progress means

Discuss meaningful goals with the professional supporting your child. Ask how progress will be reviewed and when the plan may need to change.

A next step, together

Your child’s next step
could start with one conversation.
